Our Mission

Veritas Academy is an independent school established to support families in the spiritual, moral and intellectual formation of their children.  Founded under the inspiration of Pope John Paul II, Veritas Academy takes seriously the sacred trust of educating students of intellect and character for eventual service to the Church and society in the 21st century.

Philosophy

"...Faith, therefore, has no fear of reason, but seeks it out and has trust in it."   Just as grace builds on nature and brings it to fulfillment, so faith builds upon and perfects reason.  "Illumined by faith, reason is set free from the fragility and limitations deriving from the disobedience of sin and finds the strength required to rise to the knowledge of the Triune God..."  So the Holy Father instructs us in his 1998 encyclical letter, Fides et Ratio.  As both the light of reason and the light of faith come from God, argued Thomas Aquinas, there can be no contradiction between them.

Based upon these twin pillars of Faith and Reason, Veritas Academy provides a rigorous classical curriculum, guided and inspired by the tenets of our faith, implemented by a team of professionals sharing our commitment to the excellence of the human person in the spiritual, moral and intellectual realms.  The curriculum will be informed by Catholic dogma in the spirit of understanding of His Holiness, John Paul II.

We desire to instill in our students a love for learning and a mature understanding of the beauty of Catholic truth; hence the name, Veritas.  In so doing, we aim to assist parents in preparing their children to enter the secular world as educated, virtuous, confident and faithful Catholic ladies and gentlemen who are ready and able to respond to God's call in every aspect of their lives, transforming society in a Christian way.

Veritas Academy is an independent private school, delivering a Classical Education in the Catholic tradition.

• Our Kindergarten program is half-day, mornings.
• The average class size is currently about 8 students.
• Ideal class size is 12-15 students per grade.
• We have 7 full-time faculty members and 4 part-time faculty members.
• We attract students from all over the metropolitan area.
• The school is on a trimester schedule.
• Veritas Academy does not receive financial support or subsidy from any specific organization; rather, we are dependent upon tuition, gifts and our own fundraising efforts.
